REVIEW: Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder

I’ve been dying to get my hands on Laura Mercier’s translucent loose setting powder, so when I stopped in Sephora the other day I had to pick it up. While I’m usually a huge drugstore fiend for products like setting powder, foundation, etc.— I have to say this baby is my new favorite. It’s $38, which in my opinion, is a bit pricey — but if you find something you love that works wonders on your skin, it’s worth the extra spending cost.

I used this powder with my everyday makeup routine, and my face responded wonderfully to it. I used it to set under my eyes, as well as the portions of my face that I put concealer on. My first impression was that it is INDEED a loose powder, meaning you want to be careful when opening the container and applying it to your face. Fall out *will* occur. It smelled delicious, which might be a little weird to hear, but you have to use it for yourself to understand!

The application was super smooth and it felt incredibly lightweight on my skin — which if you’re familiar with my blog, you know is SO important to me when it comes to makeup. It’s completely sheer, meaning you won’t add any extra color to your skin using this powder. I left it on for about five minutes before wiping it off with a flat kabuki brush from Sigma Beauty.

The end result was a smooth, glowy, matte finish. I was obsessed with the finished look. My under-eyes set flawlessly and my makeup stayed on all day long without creasing. Win! I’d recommend this product for normal to oily skin types, as it pretty much accommodates to what your skin needs. This was how my makeup looked at the end of the day (LOVE):

My favorite part about this powder was that it gave my face a lovely glow and brightened up my under-eyes for a gorgeous highlight! Overall rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
